A phased project for a back-split bungalow. Phase one involves a ground floor kitchen renovation and phase two will add a rear addition to the home. To ensure the kitchen renovation would be mindful of the long term layout, design work for both phases of the project was completed before construction began.
The previous kitchen was cramped and had little connection to the rest of the house, while the living room felt too large. A flip flop of the ground floor plan provides space for an open kitchen and dining area, allows for sight lines to the future family room in the lower level, and creates a more proportioned living space.
