A light filled, clean and contemporary refresh to several private school campuses in southern Ontario, as well as a consistent campus-wide design guide for future work.
Following a space-use analysis and furniture inventory, elements of the design guide have been phased in, to maximize functionality, create new programme spaces and give positive first impressions to students and visitors. Careful coordination allowed for work to be completed without disruption to normal class schedules.
Reception and waiting areas were streamlined and de-cluttered. Flexible classroom furniture allows learning areas to be easily reconfigured to accommodate a variety of teaching styles. Accented teaching walls and a painted wainscot were introduced to reduce the appearance of wear and tear. New flooring in high traffic areas and low maintenance materials were selected for longevity. Custom wall graphics, awards, student work and select art are featured throughout to bring an individual identity to each campus.
